Sorting Snacks

Today we had a cereal snack. But before we could eat our snack, we had to sort it by shape and by color! Our class was able to sort by shape first! We put the “circles’ (berries) together and then put the squares together. Once we did that, we were ready to sort by color. We made piles of red, purple, green, blue, and yellow!

Then we enjoyed our tasty treat!

You can practice sorting at home, too! If you have different shaped cereal or with different colors, try eating a certain shape or color first!

You can also practice sorting by color by helping moms and dads sort the laundry! Put colors together and whites together.

When we put dishes away, we sort by putting bowls together, plates, cups, forks, knives, etc.

We also sort or groceries when we put them away! We put our cold things in the refrigerator and dry things in our pantry and cabinets! You can also sort your cans and boxes when you put them in the pantry!

There are all kinds of ways you can practice sorting at  home!

Thank you Mrs. Barker! This activity really helped as my student in your class helps when putting up the groceries!
